Teens and Twenties
Teens and Twenties group was set up to support younger adults with learning difficulties and their families.
Following consultation with parent/carers the group has adopted as its main focus the support for young adults with learning difficulties in forming friendships and in engaging with a range of different social activities. The young people meet once a month and so far have enjoyed ten-pin bowling, crazy golf, cricket on the green, companion cycling, footie-golf, swimming, a night time walk, pub meals and a barbecue. Regular planning meetings have taken place with parent carers who have taken the lead in deciding on appropriate activities and have hosted some of these activities.
There is a core group of 10 young people who attend regularly and the group is growing.
